Game-changing E-GMP
(Electric Global Modular Platform)
& fourth-generation battery technology

Kia has taken full advantage of the EV9’s long wheelbase and the completely flat electric vehicle architecture afforded by its industry-transforming Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This delivers a cabin with generous space for all occupants to connect and relax with lounge-style comfort in all three rows of seats. It also ensures athletic performance, complimented by exemplary range from a 99.8kWh battery in both Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD) variants.

Highway Driving Pilot: Unlocking conditional Level 3 autonomy

Utilising some of the most sophisticated Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology, the EV9 takes a significant step towards full autonomy. Kia's new Highway Driving Pilot System (HDP) system equips the EV9 with conditional Lebel 3 autonomy driving. Fifteen sensors, including two lidars, allows it to scan for and detect objects in a full 360-degree field of view, enabling it to react to the road and other users in milliseconds.

When engaged, Highway Driving Pilot (HDP) is not a substitute for safe driving and may not detect all objects around the vehicle. No system, no matter how advanced, can compensate for all driver error and/or driving conditions. The driver remains responsible for the safe and legal operation of the vehicle. Always follow the precautions and operating conditions listed in the owner’s manual.
Availability of HDP may vary by trim and market. The detailed features of HDP may vary by region due to local laws and regulations. Kia will provide more information about HDP upon market launch.
In North America, Kia’s autonomous driving technology will be introduced under the name “Advanced Highway Driving Assist” as a level 2+ autonomous driving feature.

Terms and Conditions

* Maximum charging speed

In order to achieve the maximum charging speed, EV9 must be charged at an 800-volt electric vehicle charger that delivers at least 210kW of electricity. The additionally added real-life range within 15 minutes is depending on different factors including the current state of charge of the battery, battery temperature, exterior weather conditions and the charger used. It is also defined by the individual driving style and energy consumption.

** Driving Range

The range was determined according to the standardized EU measurement procedure (WLTP). The individual driving style and other factors, such as speed, outside temperature, topography and the use of electricity-consuming devices/units, have an influence on the real-life range and can possibly reduce it.

7-year battery warranty

Kia high voltage lithium-ion battery-units in electric vehicles (EV), hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) are built to have a long life. These batteries are covered by the Kia warranty for a period of 7 years from initial registration or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first (8 years/100,000 miles for EV models registered from 01/01/2024). For low voltage batteries (48V and 12V) in mild-hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV), the Kia warranty covers a period of 2 years from initial registration regardless of mileage. For EVs and PHEVs only, Kia guarantees a 70% capacity of the battery. Capacity reduction of the battery in HEV and MHEV is not covered by the warranty. To minimise possible capacity reduction, consult the Owner's Manual. For full Kia warranty terms and exclusions click here.

Cars registered up to 31/12/2023: The Lithium-Ion Polymer Battery warranty covers a minimum capacity for a period is 84 months or 100,000 miles from the date of first registration, whichever comes first. Cars registered from 01/01/2024: The Lithium-Ion Polymer Battery warranty covers a minimum capacity for a period is 96 months (84 months for PHEV) or 100,000 miles from the date of first registration, whichever comes first.
